Weddings & Seasons

July 11th, 2006

Last weekend i drove home for a few days for my brother’s wedding. It was nice. The weather was pleasant, low humidity and the drive was pretty uneventful. It was nice to be home for a bit, but i realized that i love Virginia as a place more than Immediate Familyany fondness i have for Indiana. I returned Sunday and the mountains seemed to pull me into a sweet embrace. Home again. A strange feeling to be where you spent the majority of your life and not feel at home really.

I had such good plans to call up friends and family for dinner out and about and catch up with everyone, but a limited amount of time and getting ready for a wedding cut down all my wishes to a few meetings and little socialization. Perhaps when i visit next (probably over Labor Day), i can hook up with a few more people to say hi and whatnot.

In other news, i started along the way to become a Master Naturalist. It’s like the master gardener program but more in depth with nature instead of growing flowers and veggies. Lots of tromping around in the woods and finding weird bugs and salamanders. Very exciting times ahead!
