moscato d’asti

October 18th, 2006

A couple weeks ago I picked up a bottle of moscato d’asti from the Cascinetta Vietti vineyards in Italy. Wow. It’s so very very yummy.  The cork popped off with quite a bang and the bubbles started to flow up from the pale yellow wine.

It has a very sweet smell and that carries through to the taste also. It pops on the tongue at first and then the bubbles seem to burst in the mouth until the wine finishes with a sweet, melon taste.  It’s a great sipping wine and I enjoyed it after dinner with some tv and relaxation. I think I spent around $21 for it and it’s worth it.
