Yahoo! & AOL - the new axis of evil

February 6th, 2006

AOL has always been the bane of knowledgeable folks everywhere. The excuse that “it’s what i’ve always had and i don’t want to change my address” is weak and lazy.  If your car keeps catching fire and burning your ass, you don’t keep driving it because it’s what everyone knows you drive and you want them to recognize you on the road. Lazy excuses for the uneducated. Yahoo! isn’t much better.  At least Google has “don’t be evil” as a mission statement…

But what truely makes them evil is that they state they want to keep your email address “spam free”.  they have filters and whatnot; AOL even has commercials where they claim that they stop spam dead and reject it before you ever see it. That’s a nice thought, unless of course the spamming companies convinced AOL/Yahoo! to let them get through the filters for a small fee. Possibly like 1/4 of one penny. Hmmm… would AOL/Yahoo! do that? Damn straight they would.  Bastards.
