Hardee’s is at it again with a new breakfast item.
The group’s senior nutritionist, Jayne Hurley, said Monday that the burrito was “another lousy invention by a fast-food company.”
The “country breakfast bomb,” as she called it, represents half a day’s calories and a full day’s worth of saturated fat and salt, to say nothing of cholesterol.
“That’s [...]

During a brief trip to Whole Foods, I picked up a couple pieces of cheese. Okay, maybe a few more than a couple…
From top to bottom/left: Neals Yard Hawes Wensleydale, Parmigiano Regiano, Mahon, Parrano, Gouda Red Wax, Mozzarella
It’s all just so very yummy. I even got some chutney to go along with it.

If you ask me to tell you about the last week, I might tell you about my job. I might tell you about books I read. I might tell you who I hung out with, where I went, what I did… anything really. I find that since I’ve moved to VA, I define my time [...]

These tasty morsels are similar to bread and butter pickles. They have a sweet taste but are not as sweet as sweet pickles. Good just for dipping a fork into the jar and getting a quick, pickled snack.
Refrigerator Pickles
2 C sugar
1 C vinegar
1 tsp celery seeds
2 tsp salt
2 Qt sliced cucumbers
1 sliced onion
1 sliced green [...]
